Cypress Creek Energy Releases 2025 Sustainability Report

Measurable progress in responsible energy development, land stewardship, community investment and industry-leading safety performance 

DURHAM, N.C. In 2025, more than 1 gigawatt (GW) of Cypress Creek solar and energy storage projects were under construction. At the same time, Cypress Creek invested approximately $950 million in new energy infrastructure across the country, created more than 1,700 construction jobs and generated more than 2.7 million megawatt-hours of electricity.

Cypress Creek approaches sustainability as part of how it develops, builds, owns and operates energy infrastructure, rather than as a separate initiative. As a long-term owner and operator, the company focuses on creating value throughout the life of its projects through responsible land stewardship, meaningful community partnerships, safe and disciplined operations, and reliable energy production.  

2025 Highlights 

Cypress Creek’s 2025 performance included: 

• 2.7 million+ MWh of electricity generated, avoiding approximately 1.84 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions  

• 34.5% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from the company’s 2022 baseline  

• Approximately $950 million invested in energy infrastructure across America  

• More than 1,700 construction jobs created  

• More than $848,000 donated directly to community programs and organizations  

• More than $21 million in tax and lease payments to communities hosting Cypress Creek energy projects  

• More than 2 million safe working hours, with a 0.18 Total Recordable Incident Rate, compared with a 1.7 industry average  

Land Stewardship 

Responsible development begins with the land. Cypress Creek integrates environmental considerations from the earliest stages of project development, including diligence around biological, aquatic and cultural resources, wildlife corridors, pollinator-friendly vegetation, soil health and opportunities to maintain agricultural use alongside solar generation.  

The report also highlights Cypress Creek’s participation in Argonne National Laboratory’s Solar Soil research database. Soil sampling at an operational North Carolina solar project originally built in 2016 found no elevated metal concentrations or pesticide or herbicide impacts from the solar installation, while vegetation was well established across the site. Cypress Creek continues to evaluate opportunities for pre- and post-construction soil sampling to help build the body of research around long-term solar land use.  

Community Investment 

Cypress Creek believes communities that host energy infrastructure should share in the value it creates. In 2025, the company contributed more than $848,000 to communities and organizations nationwide, with investments focused on education and workforce development, essential needs, and public safety and service.  

The company’s approach starts with listening to communities and directing investments toward locally identified priorities. In Colorado, for example, a Community Working Group established for Cypress Creek’s Sundance Solar project puts local leaders and organizations directly in charge of allocating $300,000 in project-related community funding. The model is now serving as a template for community engagement in new development markets.  

Safety 

Safety is foundational to how Cypress Creek operates. In 2025, Cypress Creek team members worked more than 1.09 million hours without a single recordable injury, while contractors worked more than 1.13 million hours with two recordable injuries and no lost workdays. The company recorded a Total Recordable Incident Rate of 0.18, well below both its internal target of 0.50 and the industry average of 1.7.  

Cypress Creek manages health and safety through an enterprise-wide framework spanning the full project lifecycle, with safety integrated into project planning, construction and operations through training, contractor vetting, hazard analysis, incident response protocols and Stop Work Authority for team members and contractors.  

Responsible Energy 

Cypress Creek generated more than 2.7 million MWh of electricity in 2025, avoiding approximately 1.84 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions. The company also achieved a 34.5% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from its 2022 baseline, remaining ahead of the interim trajectory toward its SBTi-validated 2030 emissions reduction target.
