Cypress Creek Energy Named Finalist for 2026 Platts Global Energy Award
Cypress Creek Energy has been named a finalist for Energy Deal of the Year in the S&P Global 2026 Platts Global Energy Awards for the $3.5 billion financing of Phases 1 and 2 of its Steel River Energy Center, America’s largest solar project with energy storage to break ground.
The $3.5 billion transaction represents the most significant solar financing in the U.S. this year and supports the first two phases of the landmark Steel River project.
Companies and individuals from 36 countries were selected as finalists for the Platts Global Energy Awards program, now in its 28th year as a premier industry recognition event. The 2026 finalists, more than 57% of whom hail from outside the United States, were announced by program host and organizer S&P Global Energy.
The Platts Global Energy Awards recognize corporate and individual innovation, leadership, and exemplary performance in 19 categories spanning the entire energy and chemicals value chain.

The oversubscribed transaction required sophisticated structuring across multiple sources of capital and demonstrates Cypress Creek’s ability to finance and execute energy infrastructure at gigawatt scale.

Winners of the 28th annual Platts Global Energy Awards will be announced on the evening of December 3. The winners of the Platts Global Energy Awards are determined by an independent judging panel of international energy experts whose backgrounds and experiences include regulation, policymaking, corporate leadership, trading, and strategic consulting. Neither S&P Global Energy nor its event sponsors submit votes or select winners.
