NC Green Power Solar Installation
Solar Installation at North Carolina School Funded, in Part, by Cypress Creek Renewables
On Thursday, November 3rd, 2016, Zoning Manager Phillip Martin represented Cypress Creek Renewables at the ribbon cutting of a 5 KW solar installation at East Columbus High School in Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina. In January 2016, Cypress Creek donated funds to help the school build the project through a grant program operated by NC Green Power, a non-profit organization that provides grants for solar installations at K-12 schools throughout the state.
“We are so happy to see this project up and running,” said Cypress Creek Zoning Manager and Donation Supervisor Cate Parker. “When asked to participate almost a year ago, we jumped at the opportunity because projects like these not only generate clean energy for the school, they also provide an excellent educational tool for learning about solar power engineering, production and delivery. The science that makes solar energy generation possible is fascinating and has a wide-ranging impact. Having an actual solar installation to reference makes learning about it so much more interesting. We hope this solar installation will not only generate green power, but will inspire a whole new generation of clean energy engineers.”

We’re proud to announce we’ve also made two additional renewable energy grants to similar schools that were struggling to obtain the funds to install 5kw arrays at their schools through the NC Green Power program.
